One of my favorite things to do before trying to replace expensive parts with a p0420 code is making sure all maintenance is done. Oil changes are soo very important to do on time, honestly all maintenance is but especially oil changes. I’ll get into what kind of oil you should be using in a separate video! There is only so much I can fit in 2 mins ? let me know if you all want to see longer YouTube videos where I can get into specific detail! Some tips before doing the job above :) - always refer to your drivers manual if you aren’t sure of your vehicle’s specifications. There is an index at the back of your book you can search key words in. If you have an older car with no book car forums are helpful! Ask other people with your same vehicle :) - don’t touch the porcelain part of your spark plugs. It’ll make them crack down the road. I like to be extra careful and give them a little alcohol wipe before install - spark plug sockets are so important and are different than regular sockets. - giving a little clean to your o2 sensors can also help clear a p0420 code - make sure to drive your car consecutively! Living in a place with a lot of start stop traffic is harsh on your engine. Allowing your car to be at steady rpm’s will keep your engine happy :) Ask me questions!! Super excited to share a lil more about @itsgirlgarage and what I want it to be! It’s a place for everyone to feel comfortable working on their cars especially women from the ground up. All levels from extreme beginners to professionals :) I know sometimes these things can be really intimidating to get into and people can be afraid to ask the wrong questions but girl garage is platform I want to have available to ask those questions. So here is a really beginner friendly video about changing your light bulbs on your own and a part 2 for filters will be coming soon after :)
